A letter for my Mom(Barbara) on this special Day,

Mom, you are the strongest woman we know. You are a light of hope, a great example on keeping faith and never giving up. Even in your time of need you always looked out for everyone else and for that we “Thank you”. As your daughters we are proud to have you as our mom and to be able to witness you grow and improve daily. Thank you for setting the Bar on knocking down adversity. Thank you for always caring and making sure we are Ok even if you aren’t. Thank you for carrying the weight on your shoulders and still keeping GOD first. Thank you being an example that not only for us but our children can look up too. We are in ‘AW’ over you. We are proud of you. We cherish you. We love you. Hope you enjoy a relaxing Mother’s Day.

Letter for Mother’s Day

God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made you.  You are truly the example of a good wife and the perfect mother.  Your willingness to do whatever is necessary to accomplish the visions set forth before our family is unwavering.   You have been supportive to us and have been our Rock for many years.  The most important thing a father can do when planning a family is to find the best mother possible.  I feel lucky to have found you and love you more today than yesterday.  The impact you have on our children through your tireless efforts is demonstrated in how beautiful and ambitious they both are.  On this day, we celebrate all the joy and hope you bring to our family.  May this short but sweet letter serve as an acknowlegement of our appreciation, love and thankfullness to have you in our lives.

Mother’s Day for a Survivor – 

Yes, when we are diagnosed some of our thoughts are, what did I do wrong, I must live to see my children grow, I want my own child and as a mother, wife, sister, best friend, grandmother and an independent single woman where does this leave me?

So many unanswered questions for everyone involved but as a woman it is such a big “what if” and where do I go from here.

As a sister how can I tell them I have cancer and that I am fearful for their children, a wife is concerned about how I will be approached by my lover and mate. For the single ladies when do I bring “it” up, I’m a cancer survivor and will my partner still find me beautiful as I am and that I may not be able to offer you your own biological child that we can see our face and personality in. For those that have lost some of their “forever” children and will not see them until they join their babies again.

I love my Mom who is a breast cancer survivor but now lives in her own world and doesn’t always know me, but I feel her love whenever I am with her. I see the pain in the hearts of the single ladies that their partners left them in this journey, some that may not be able to have their own biological child and really don’t care for Mother’s Day that remind them of this.

This is just some of our fears as women who have been diagnosed with cancer but here is what I do know as a Survivor, Thrivor, Fighter and Warrior. WE are incredible! We find a way to carry on and in many cases on this journey. Some may keep a “social mask” on to get through each day so we don’t have to explain our emotions and fears. Each of the ladies are incredible and I have the opportunity to see what they face and fear for their families and loved ones, it is a battle in how we have been raised to fight and carry on. 

What I see in them are beautiful women that find joy in each other’s children, Furbabies and celebrate the ups and downs of each child who may stumble or have a victory in our “Circle”. We are friends, Aunt’s, Mother’s and most important Sisters to help one another. 

We are all Mother’s in our own way and we are very special to someone everyday in everyway in the Circle of Friends. Although it is hard for some of us, what I do know we are there to surround and love each of us and let them know they are special too on this Mother’s Day.

Dear Mom,

Happy Mother’s Day! Thank you so much for being my mom. I could not have imagined anything better you could have done raising me. You ALWAYS have my back and you’re my biggest fan. Not only are you my mother, but my best friend. You get me and I get you. I am so thankful for you and the relationship we have formed. You paved every single road with the greatest intentions for me and it really has worked out beautifully. I admire you for your strength with everything that has happened and you’ve made me a pretty tough (and rowdy) lady. I know you’re not much for written things, so I’ll keep this short and sweet. You are my sunshine and don’t you ever forget it.
